My heart breaks for the Capital Gazette today.

I was heartbroken to learn of the shooting this afternoon in Annapolis.

As our country is greatly impacted by the reckless policies of President Trump and Congressional Republicans—from the irresponsible tax scam to the sabotage of the Affordable Care Act—it is critical that Members keep in close contact with their constituents

Justice Kennedy has served our nation faithfully and honorably on the Supreme Court, and I wish him well in his retirement. 

In the years I’ve served with Joe Crowley, I’ve known him to be a tireless fighter for jobs, opportunity, and a better future for the people of our country.

All across America tonight, Muslim families and communities will gather to celebrate Eid al-Fitr and mark the conclusion of Ramadan. 

This week, House Republicans brought two deeply flawed bills to the Floor. The first was their hypocritical rescissions package, which would rescind funding for priorities like children’s health in an attempt to look fiscally responsible.

Mr. Speaker, there is joy in the Washington capital region today.
