WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the shooting in the newsroom of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland:
“I was heartbroken to learn of the shooting this afternoon in Annapolis. I have known the hardworking staff of the Capital Gazette for many years, and I extend my deepest condolences to the dedicated editors, reporters, and staff. I join in thanking our brave first responders for their immediate response to the situation. My thoughts and prayers remain with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire Capital Gazette family during this difficult time.”
