WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement on the NY-14 primary election result:
“In the years I’ve served with Joe Crowley, I’ve known him to be a tireless fighter for jobs, opportunity, and a better future for the people of our country. I’ve been proud to call him my colleague and my long-time friend. Joe has represented his district skillfully and been a leader in our party and in this House. I thank him for his service to our country and wish him well for the future. I join in congratulating Ms. Ocasio-Cortez on her victory last night and look forward to working with her next Congress.”
