For the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans to propose this rescissions package is another example of their hypocritical attitude toward deficits.

Reports that the Department of Homeland Security will begin separating parents from children at the border are extremely disturbing. 

Once again, the Trump Administration is ignoring humanitarian concerns and common sense as it embraces the most draconian and xenophobic policies of the far right. 

I join with Mexican-Americans in celebrating Cinco de Mayo.  On this date 156 years ago, Mexican patriots and freedom fighters won a crucial victory to prevent a return of colonialism and preserve their nation’s independence. 

One year ago today, House Republicans voted to take health coverage away from 24 million Americans, including 7 million covered through their employers, and raise premiums and out-of-pocket costs for patients and their families. 

April’s job report shows our continued economic strength built on what President Obama left to his successor: a combination of declining deficits and robust job growth.  

I join in celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month, which is observed throughout May. Since colonial times, Jewish Americans have contributed to this country and helped build its future.
