After the ruinous Republican-led shutdown in 2013, Speaker John Boehner agreed that his party was to blame, calling it “a very predictable disaster.” However, two years later, it looks like Republicans are ready to once again embrace their failed shutdown strategy.

The headline speaks for itself. Republicans, who know they will be blamed for another harmful government shutdown, still don’t have a plan to avoid it. Here’s a novel idea: work with Democrats to keep government open and reach a budget agreement that replaces the sequester. From The Hill:

As the House returns to session today, Republican leaders still don’t have a plan to avert another costly and harmful GOP shutdown.  Will Speaker Boehner be able to mollify another “rank-and-file uprising” in his own party so that the House can do what’s best for the American people by keeping the government open?
