The loss of so many innocent lives onboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 is both a tragedy and an outrage. 

Forty-five years ago, Neil Armstrong, Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, and Michael Collins achieved President Kennedy’s dream of a successful mission to land astronauts on the moon.

“We are writing to apprise you of a meeting we recently hosted with diplomats from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and South Sudan on the crisis in South Sudan,” the letter stated. 

Today, the Senate passed a reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 93-4, and it is now the House’s turn to act.

Hamas has now rejected a cease fire and used innocent Palestinians as human shields for their rocket launchers, and yesterday they brazenly launched a raid against an Israeli border town using an underground tunnel.  

President Obama’s decision to enforce new sanctions against some of Russia’s largest banks, energy companies, and defense contractors ought to be a clear sign to President Vladimir Putin that the United States and our European allies will not stand idly by as Ukraine’s sovereignty is threatened.

I am very disappointed that Senate Republicans voted to block legislation to ensure that women can make their own health care decisions without interference from their employers.
