“Today, recognizing that the federal government cannot do nothing while thousands of Americans – including many children – are killed by gun violence each year, President Obama used his legal authority to take bold executive actions that will help keep dangerous firearms out of the hands of those who shouldn’t have them while supporting research into mental health and safer gun technologies.  

I am disappointed that the Administration has delayed punitive action in response to Iran’s recent ballistic missile tests.  

Five years ago, President Obama signed the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act into law, beginning a process that would eventually lead to the full integration of Americans in our Armed Forces without regard for their sexual orientation.

The certainty of this bill is that we will explode further deficits and provide for disinvestment. That's the certainty of this bill, and I rise in strong opposition to it.
