I am shocked and outraged that the Syrian regime and Russian forces continue to attack civilian targets indiscriminately in Aleppo. 

As we recognize National Manufacturing Day, we have an opportunity to recognize the great strides the American manufacturing industry has made in recovering since the Great Recession.

Republicans in the House of Representatives have rapidly escalated their investigations of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to unprecedented levels by issuing more than 70 subpoenas and letters just since July 5, when FBI Director James Comey announced publicly that his team of career investigators unanimously concluded that no criminal charges were warranted in the FBI email investigation.

Tonight’s actions by the House will prevent a government shutdown, and I am pleased that Democrats and Republicans were able to reach an agreement to keep the government open before Friday’s deadline.  

I was deeply saddened to learn of former President Shimon Peres’s passing.  Among the last of modern Israel's founding generation, he served his nation faithfully and with courage in times of war and peace, heartbreak and joy.
