House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following video of over 50 House Democrats urging Republicans to bring H.R. 3440 – the Dream Act of 2017 – to the Floor in order to permanently protect DREAMers. Each Member inserted stories of DREAMers into the Congressional record.

The Democrats are not euphoric today. One of the reasons we're not euphoric is because earlier this week 800,000 people, young people, were put at risk by the Attorney General, apparently at the request of the President, saying that they were not going to pursue DACA.

Good afternoon, we’re a little late because we just participated in a briefing on the challenges that confront the global community, America certainly, but the global community in the Mideast, Southeast Asia, and, of course, in North Korea.

Today, the House took an important first step to assist those affected by Hurricane Harvey.  All of us have seen the images of devastation and heard stories of heartbreak and loss, and we have witnessed scenes of heroism and selflessness, including so many random acts of kindness.
