I was appalled and angered to learn of the shooting at Great Mills High School today.
The so-called election this weekend in Russia was a sham, rigged by President Vladimir Putin to secure for himself another term of complete control over the Russian state, which is no longer a true democracy. 
I was deeply saddened to learn the news this morning of Louise’s passing.
These new sanctions against Russian individuals and entities complicit in cyberattacks targeting American elections, authorized under bipartisan legislation I cosponsored, are a welcome step. 
Russia’s attacks against dissidents on British soil are unconscionable and violate international law.  I stand in strong solidarity with Prime Minister May and the British government as they take appropriate retaliatory action today. 
Today, I stood with thousands of students from the Washington area who walked out and marched for safer schools and action to prevent gun violence. 
I thank Secretary Tillerson for his service and congratulate Mike Pompeo on his nomination to serve as our next Secretary of State. 
I echo the disappointment of Ranking Member Schiff and Intelligence Committee Democrats at the irresponsible and premature conclusion of the Committee’s investigation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempt to scapegoat Jews, in an effort to deflect responsibility for his country’s campaign to disrupt our elections, is reprehensible.
The proposals unveiled by the White House today reflect the mistaken view that this is only a problem affecting schools and that arming teachers is an acceptable solution.
