As we begin the celebration of Black History Month today, we look to the extraordinary story of African Americans in our country, enriching our national life through civic leadership, military service, business, the arts, science, literature, sports, and entertainment.
I am deeply concerned by President Trump’s announcement today that he intends to withdraw the United States from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty unilaterally.
Today’s jobs report has to be viewed in the context that last month, 800,000 Americans workers effectively had their jobs taken away and were denied two paychecks, forcing them to go to food banks to feed their families or to take out risky payday loans as a result of President Trump’s shutdown strategy.
I am cosponsoring this resolution today because the American people and their Representatives in Congress deserve the opportunity to weigh in on our nation’s involvement in the conflict in Yemen.
