Two years ago, House Republicans stood in the White House Rose Garden with President Trump to cheer the passage of a bill that would strip health insurance coverage from 20 million Americans and end protections for those with pre-existing conditions. 
As Muslims in America and around the world prepare to begin the holy month of Ramadan, I send my wishes for a very meaningful observance and say ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ to all participating.
The monthly jobs report, released today, shows a continuation of an economic trajectory that reaches back through 103 consecutive months of positive job growth. But these job figures don’t tell the whole story, as wages aren’t growing fast enough to allow millions of workers to keep pace and feel that real economic security is within reach.
I am disappointed that Senate Republicans chose to vote against overriding the President’s veto of the War Powers Act resolution and continue U.S. involvement in Yemen, which is contributing to the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe there. 
Today, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and Republican Rep. Dr. Phil Roe (TN-01) re-introduced H.R. 2468, the bipartisan School-Based Allergies and Asthma Management Program Act in the 116th Congress. 
On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million Jews and millions of others who perished in the most brutal genocide in history. 
This morning, the House Judiciary Committee marked up H.R. 5, the Equality Act.  Now that it has secured Committee approval, I will bring it to the Floor for a vote this month. 
The Trump Administration’s ongoing effort to dismantle the Affordable Care Act in its entirety would harm millions of Americans.
