The July jobs report tells the story of American economic resilience in the face of serious challenges and a failure by the current Administration to build on the policies that brought about our recovery from the Great Recession.

I support the appointment of Pedro Pierluisi to be Puerto Rico’s new Secretary of State, and I urge the House and Senate to approve his nomination quickly.

Dan Coats has served this country with devotion as a legislator and the head of our intelligence community, and while we may have stood at opposite sides of the aisle, I always respected him as a fellow public servant. 

As we mark the twenty-ninth anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, let us reflect on how far we have come toward building a more just, more inclusive, and more accessible country. 

I was very disappointed that Republicans blocked legislation last night that would have provided Temporary Protected Status to those fleeing Venezuela as a result of the Maduro regime’s brutality and the violence and hardships that have characterized his rule.

Today, we saw an example of industry and government working together to address the challenges of climate change in a way that also yields opportunities for American consumers, workers, and businesses.

Puerto Rico deserves leadership that has the trust of the people, and Governor Rosselló was right to step aside following recent corruption in his Administration and derogatory comments made by him and his aides.
