Today, House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) announced the beginning of the 2016 House Democrats’ Member Online All-Star Competition, an annual three-week competition for House Democrats to gain new followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

I am horrified and deeply saddened by Sunday’s attack in Orlando, Florida. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the Orlando LGBT and Latino communities. However, our thoughts and prayers alone are not enough. 

House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today in response to the release of Speaker Ryan and House Republicans’ regulatory agenda, the third plank of their #WrongWay agenda.

Today, House Republicans missed the statutory deadline to pass a budget, notwithstanding the fact that they made passing a budget a top priority this year. It’s unfortunate that division and dysfunction within their Party prevented them from passing a budget, and I am deeply disappointed that many of their Members are urging Republican leadership to abandon the spending levels Congress passed last year.
