"Thank you very much Madam Leader. As all of you would expect, we talked about a variety of issues. What the President brought every issue to [is] how it impacted on expanding the middle class and growing jobs.

“Mr. Speaker, as the Speaker has said, later today members and staff from both parties will come together to remember the tragic shooting that occurred 15 years ago in this Capitol.
With House Republicans heading into the August district work period with no accomplishments to tout, it isn’t surprising they’ve been given a recess packet with plenty of rhetoric and no substance. An article in Roll Call today highlights their strategy to go home and talk about how Washington is broken. You know, after they spent months obstructing any reasonable legislation.
