There are five days left with the House in session, and time is running out for action on many must-pass legislative items.  As the Wall Street Journal explains, Republican leaderships’ history of partisanship and chaos does not bode well for the Republican-led House of Representatives:

MESSAGE FROM THE DEMOCRATIC WHIP

The House is scheduled to meet for only five more days this year, and I'm disappointed that House Republican leaders appear ready to head home without finishing our work on a long list of critical legislation.

Speaker John Boehner is clearly feeling defensive about the lack of accomplishments by the Do-Nothing Republicans – we’re shocked he was able to keep a straight face when he tried to blame Democrats for Republicans’ failure to compromise. From the Hill:

If you're in need of a good laugh, look no further than what Speaker John Boehner had to say about the Republican leadership's lack of accomplishments this year, according to Huffington Post:

A look at the first session of the 113th Congress shows that the Republican-led House of Representatives has not made progress on issues important to the American people. With 8 legislative days remaining in this year, the Republican leadership is poised to leave a long to-do list of critical legislation unfinished.

With the 2013 clock running out, House Republicans’ non-existent list of legislative accomplishments and their unfinished to-do list is garnering even more attention.  Today the New York Times noted the record lack of productivity by the Do-Nothing Republicans:

"I join in congratulating Ed Cassidy on his appointment as the House's new Chief Administrative Officer.

With only 8 remaining legislative days scheduled in 2013, a look at the Republican-led House of Representatives shows a lackluster record with a long list of items left to address. And we’re not the only ones taking note of the Do Nothing GOP:

Washington Post:

“For nearly three decades, Dan Strodel has served the House of Representatives with distinction, including as Chief Administrative Officer since 2010.  In that role, he has helped ensure the smooth operation of the House of Representatives and the well-being of its Members and staff.

POLITICO reports what’s already pretty apparent: House Republicans have already given up on legislating during the days remaining in 2013:

“In short, if there are hopes of sending President Barack Obama the comprehensive immigration bill so many have lobbied for, or the Employee Non-Discrimination Act before 2014, they’re likely to be dashed.
