No one should doubt where Congress stands on the brutal kidnapping of nearly 300 girls and young women in Nigeria, but this resolution, which I am proud to cosponsor, will make it very clear that America remains committed to helping bring them home and ensuring that their plight will not fade from the world’s attention

I strongly condemn the recent kidnapping of more than 300 teenage girls in Nigeria.  Their abduction at the hands of extremists must not be met with silence or complacence on the part of the Nigerian government or the international community.

This morning, there was a room available for some of the citizens of our country to come to Washington and their Capitol – their Capitol, with their office building, and their office and tell their story. They cut us off.

The release today of the third U.S. National Climate Assessment is an important step toward fulfilling the goals of the Climate Action Plan President Obama laid out last June.  

As Israelis mark sixty-six years of independence, I join in celebrating with them and with the millions of Jews around the world who look to the modern State of Israel as the fulfillment of a 2,000 year-old dream.

Once again, the Institute for Supply Management’s monthly report shows that our manufacturing sector is growing at a strong pace, continuing to demonstrate resilience even in the face of uncertainty caused by gridlock in Congress.  American manufacturers want to make more of their products here and sell them around the country and across the world – and, in the process, invest in new facilities, new hiring, and innovation.
