In the aftermath of the worst act of individual gun violence in our nation’s history in Las Vegas – and following several recent mass-murders that shocked the conscience of our nation – it is appalling that House Republicans would advance a bill out of committee today that would make our communities less safe from gun violence. 
This White House cannot continue to ignore statutory requests from the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to produce documents. 
Today, just fifty-nine hours after fifty-nine people were brutally murdered and more than 500 injured in the worst mass shooting in our history, House Republicans voted to defeat a motion that would have established a select committee to investigate gun violence. 
Last Friday, Health and Human Services Secretary Price resigned amid reports he had spent more than a million dollars of taxpayer money on charter flights around the world—but he is hardly alone when it comes to waste, fraud, and abuse in the Trump Cabinet.
So much for President Trump’s claims that he was going to drain the swamp – he should take a look at his own Cabinet.

Today the House is scheduled to consider under suspension a bill that packages together a six-month extension of authority for the FAA along with several other provisions.

It is deeply disappointing that Senate Republicans would abandon the bipartisan Murray-Alexander effort to stabilize our health care markets.

President Trump's speech at the United Nations this morning was a missed opportunity to demonstrate true leadership in securing our nation and protecting our allies.
