During the nearly five years of his speakership and throughout his twenty-five years in Congress, John Boehner has been a true gentleman and a consistent advocate for the enduring American principle that hard work ought to lead to opportunity.

I don’t think there's any doubt that the Democrats are going to cooperate in keeping the government open, if, in fact, we have a reasonable alternative. It won’t be an alternative that either party likes in terms of funding levels.
