The budget proposals released by the Trump Administration today double-down on the rejection of math, economics, and common sense that made Republican budgets unrealistic and ill-conceived over the last several years.

The leaked draft of House Republicans’ reconciliation bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act is so glaringly dangerous that even the Republican-controlled Senate would be unlikely to pass it.  

It is reprehensible that South Sudanese politicians cannot reach a peaceful end to the violent and destabilizing conflict they have created, which now threatens to exacerbate a famine that could leave millions without food.  

Reports that the Trump White House sought to pressure the FBI into making a public statement to minimize an investigation into the President's possible connections - and that of his campaign last year - with Russia and Russian intelligence officials ought to alarm every American, regardless of party or ideology. 

I am deeply disappointed by the Trump Administration's decision to rescind important protections for transgender students. 

President Trump's blueprint for mass deportation does nothing to keep Americans safe. 

Today, as we recognize a National Day of Action to protect the Affordable Care Act, I was pleased to meet with a diverse, energetic group of people in Southern Maryland that is becoming more involved in government and politics.

During our meeting with Director Holman, I raised the important point that ICE must be in close communication with Members of Congress, particularly Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, who are worried about the impact of immigration raids in their districts.
