It's not real. And frankly, my first thoughts were mirrored by almost every Republican who made a comment on the budget, this is not a real document, it is not a real offer, it's not a starting point.

If President Trump indeed asked the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the National Security Agency to deny collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, it would be a flagrant and astonishing abuse of power.

The Trump-Mulvaney budget is not real. It is a pre-text, and does not come to grips with the challenges confronting America. It is an ideological document, not a document that will ever be utilized. 

In deciding to appoint a special counsel, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein made the right decision, and the choice of former FBI Director Robert Mueller signals the seriousness with which he believes this investigation must be undertaken.
