I am appalled by news reports that militants aligned with President Putin in Eastern Ukraine have been disseminating materials demanding that Jews register themselves and their property with pro-Russian militias.

“Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Never again. We intone those words: never again. We intone those words because we have seen horror and felt guilt that it happened on our watch. And so we say never again.

Tomorrow, millions of Afghans will go to the polls to choose their next president, and Afghan voters deserve a chance to cast ballots free from the threat of violence and in a credible process that meets international standards.

“Today's preliminary agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund represents an important step forward as leaders in Kiev seek to stabilize the country's economy and implement reforms that will promote growth and opportunity for the Ukrainian people.

"I thank my friend, the Ranking Member, Mr. Engel from New York, and I thank Mr. Royce, the Chairman of the Committee, for bringing this bill to the Floor and working in a bipartisan fashion to affect an objective that I strongly support. I thank both of them for their work.
