LEADER'S FLOOR UPDATE

Today, the House meets at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business.  There will be up to five "One Minutes" per side.

Following "One Minutes," the House will begin one hour of debate on H.R. 256 – To repeal the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002.

After debate on H.R.  256, the House will take votes.  These are the last votes of the week.

WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the House passed S. 475, the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act: 

"I was proud to bring to the Floor today the Senate-passed legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday.  Commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in 1865 and celebrating their freedom is long overdue. Once signed into law, this bill will make Juneteenth the first new federal holiday in thirty-eight years.
