LEADER'S FLOOR UPDATE

The House has begun one hour of debate on H.R. 335 – To provide for an exception to a limitation against appointment of persons as Secretary of Defense within seven years of relief from active duty as a regular commissioned officer of the Armed Forces.

Following debate on H.R. 335, the House will take votes, by groups.  These will be the last votes of the week.

**Members are advised that the Majority Leader has announced the following change to the House legislative schedule for the week of January 25, 2021 and February 1, 2021.

During the week of January 25th, the House is now expected to meet for a Committee Work Week.  No votes are expected in the House during the week of January 25th.

Members are further advised that the House is expected to consider H.R. 335 – Legal exception necessary to appoint Lloyd J. Austin III as President-elect Biden’s Secretary of Defense on Thursday.
