What he said
Yesterday, on the Senate Floor, Senate HELP Committee Chair Lamar Alexander urged his Republican colleagues to support the Murray-Alexander deal to stabilize insurance markets and bring down health care costs for consumers. He pointed out they had every opportunity to repeal the ACA, and it’s time to admit defeat and work on a bipartisan basis. He also pointed out that failure to do so will only result in chaos and that Republicans will bear the blame. From The Hill:
“We’ve had about 50 votes, maybe more, and we lost them all. And we made thousands of speeches and we lost them all…I would ask what’s conservative about unaffordable premiums?.. What’s conservative about creating chaos so millions can’t buy health insurance?”
