Was It Worth It?
We’re wondering: do Republicans really think trying to stop the Affordable Care Act (even though open enrollment started yesterday anyway) was worth all of this (and more)?
- World War II Memorial and other monuments closed to the public
- Hundreds of children denied access to life saving research trials for diseases like cancer
- Head Start programs for children starting to close their doors
- Limited resources for veterans seeking government assistance
- No workplace safety investigations
- Stopped processing of small business loans, low-income housing loans, and loans to farmers
- Thousands of federal workers prohibited from doing their job
- Costing the economy an estimated $10 billion per week
- Senior nutrition programs, which benefit approximately 2.5 million seniors annually, not being funded
- National Parks closed to visitors
The answer from Americans is a clear “no.”
