#ThrowbackThursday to Republicans Voting Against Funding the Government
Although the House passed a clean, continuing resolution to fund the government yesterday, 151 Republicans still voted to shut down government once again. As we gear up for another #GOPShutdown threat in December, here’s a reminder of just a few times a large number of GOP Members voted against responsible measures to keep government open:

The Hill: House votes to prevent shutdown — with 151 GOP 'no' votes
“Congress sent President Obama legislation on Wednesday to prevent a government shutdown, following a 277-151 vote in the House that will keep federal agencies funded through Dec. 11.”
“More Republicans voted against the spending bill than in favor of it, however.”
“Republicans objected to the inclusion of money for Planned Parenthood in the measure, leading 151 GOP lawmakers to vote against the bill, compared to only 91 who supported it.”
“Every Democrat voted in favor of the legislation.”

“Only 75 House Republicans joined Democrats on Tuesday to approve legislation funding the Department of Homeland Security without provisions to undo President Obama's executive actions on immigration.”

New York Times: Republicans Back Down, Ending Crisis Over Shutdown and Debt Limit
“Congressional Republicans conceded defeat on Wednesday in their bitter budget fight with President Obama over the new health care law as the House and Senate approved last-minute legislation ending a disruptive 16-day government shutdown and extending federal borrowing power to avert a financial default with potentially worldwide economic repercussions.”
“Most House Republicans opposed the bill, but 87 voted to support it. The breakdown showed that Republican leaders were willing to violate their informal rule against advancing bills that do not have majority Republican support in order to end the shutdown. All 198 Democrats voting supported the measure.”
