“Skinny Repeal" Is Still Repeal Without Replacing the ACA

We here in the ever-helpful Democratic Whip press shop wanted to clear up any confusion: “skinny repeal” is still repeal without a replacement. Based on a December 2016 CBO Report—here is what skinny repeal could do:

  • Americans who would lose coverage: 15 million
  • Number of uninsured by 2026: 43 million
  • Americans who would lose employer-based coverage: 2 million
  • Americans cut from Medicaid: 7 million
  • Premium increases: 20% on average
