Reminder: 32M Lose Coverage Under Senate’s Repeal w/No Replace Bill
As the Senate gets ready to vote this morning on their bill to repeal the ACA without replacing it, here’s a quick reminder for them on what the impacts of that would be:
- Americans who would lose coverage next year: 18 million
- Coverage losses by 2026: 32 million
- Americans cut from Medicaid by 2026: 19 million
- Premium increases next year: 25%
- Premium increases by 2026: 100%
- Amount of Medicaid cuts: $842 billion
- Amount of tax breaks for the wealthy: $613 billion
It’s also deeply unpopular – with only 36% of voters supporting the bill and 50% opposing, according to a recent Politico/Morning Consult poll.
