WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the upcoming departure of long-time Democratic Staff Director for the House Rules Committee, Miles Lackey:

“I join in thanking Democratic Staff Director Miles Lackey for his dedicated service to the House of Representatives and to the House Rules Committee. During his 25 years of public service, Miles has been instrumental in the passage of numerous key pieces of legislation, including the Affordable Care Act. Respected by Members from both sides of the aisle, Miles’ experience and knowledge will be missed by many. My staff and I have greatly appreciated his advice and counsel over the years. I congratulate him on his service and wish him the best of luck on his move to New York.

“I want to welcome Don Sisson back to the committee as the new staff director. Don brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having previously served the committee for more than a decade before leaving to serve in his current position as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. I congratulate Don and look forward to working with him."
