WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the Trump Administration's decision to freeze payment transfers under the Affordable Care Act's risk adjustment program:
“Week after week the Administration is taking steps to sabotage the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and increase health care costs for millions of Americans. Their decision to freeze payment transfers under the ACA’s risk adjustment program is simply the latest attempt to undermine the law, inject uncertainty into the health care system, raise premiums, and put coverage at risk. I urge the Administration to reverse its decision and reinstate payments. Failure to do so will negatively impact millions of individuals and small business owners. With Republicans in charge of our health care system, Americans will know exactly who to blame.”
