Hoyer Statement on Special Counsel Indictments

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on federal indictments against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates:

“Today’s indictments, at a minimum, demonstrate that in America no one is above the law, and the special counsel’s investigation must continue unimpeded.  Nothing ought to be done to undermine the rule of law in this country. As the special counsel’s work continues and the Congressional committees investigating Russian interference move ahead, we ought to establish a bipartisan, independent commission to get to the bottom of Russia’s efforts to subvert our democracy and how best to protect ourselves against them in the future.”
