WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the retirement of Thomas S. Kahn:
"I join in thanking Tom for his service to the Budget Committee, to this House, and to our country over more than three decades. His intellect, expertise, and judgment have been extraordinary assets to the Committee and to the former Chairman John Spratt and current Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen. Tom was involved in every major budget effort over the past several years and I was proud to work with him in enacting Statutory PAYGO budgeting to ensure that Congress must pay for what it buys. I look forward to continuing to work with Tom in his new role advocating for our nation's federal employees, and I wish him and his family all the best."
