Hoyer Statement on Retirement of Congresswoman Gloria Negrete McLeod

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after Congresswoman Gloria Negrete McLeod (CA-35) announced she will not seek reelection:

“Rep. Gloria Negrete McLeod has been a valued member of our Caucus in the 113^th Congress, and I know that she will continue to represent her constituents with distinction during her final months in office.  She has been a strong advocate for our nation’s veterans and played an important role in passing the 2014 farm bill as a member of the Agriculture Committee and one of the House conferees.  I join in wishing Gloria the best as she prepares to take the next step in her public service career.”
