WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after Rep. Bob Brady (PA-01) announced his decision to not seek re-election:
“For twenty years, Bob Brady has been a champion for Philadelphia in the United States Congress. I’ve been proud to serve alongside him and call him a friend. As the senior Democrat on the House Administration Committee, Bob has overseen efforts to modernize this institution and make it more accessible to the American people. He brought to Washington a determination to put Philadelphia first every day, and he achieved that goal throughout his time in office, becoming legendary for his commitment to constituent services. I wish him and his wife Debbie all the best as Bob prepares to retire and spend much-deserved time with his family and rooting for his beloved Eagles.”
