WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after news of the departure of Katie Beirne Fallon from the White House and the promotion of Amy Rosenbaum to replace her in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs:
“I join in congratulating Amy Rosenbaum on her selection as the White House's chief liaison to Congress, and I look forward to working closely with her throughout the remainder of President Obama’s term. Amy brings a wealth of experience and talent to the role, having previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs and, before that, as Policy Director to Speaker Nancy Pelosi. While in the Speaker’s office, she earned the trust and respect of Members from across the spectrum of our Caucus.
“I also want to thank Katie Beirne Fallon for her service to the White House and to the Congress as for the past three years, in which she made it a centerpiece of her tenure to strengthen even further the working relationship between the Administration and Congressional Democrats. Having previously served as White House Deputy Communications Director and as Legislative Director to Senator Chuck Schumer, Katie has understood well the importance of the relationship between the White House and Congress when it comes to achieving results for the American people.”
