Hoyer Statement on the Passing of Congressman Mark Takai

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Congressman Mark Takai, who was an outstanding advocate for the people of Hawaii’s First Congressional District.  As a Hawaii National Guard veteran, a leader in the Hawaii legislature, and a Member of Congress, Mark dedicated his life to public service and made a substantial difference in his constituents’ lives, which will be remembered for years to come. My thoughts and prayers are with Mark’s wife, Sami, and their children at this difficult time. I know that he will be sorely missed in the Halls of Congress and among the people of Hawaii.”
