Hoyer Statement on the Passing of Ben Bradlee

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the passing of Ben Bradlee:

"I was deeply saddened to learn of Ben Bradlee's passing. Under Ben's leadership, the Washington Post expanded beyond a local paper and turned into a national news leader. He made the Post name synonymous with meticulous, thoughtful journalism. And the stories covered under his tenure - from publishing the Pentagon Papers to breaking the Watergate scandal - changed our nation. Ben's legacy will continue to be felt at the Post, and his impact on journalism will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Sally, and their entire family."
