Hoyer Statement on Nepal Earthquake

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday:

"The devastation and loss of life that has resulted from Saturday's earthquake in Nepal is truly heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families as well as with the first responders working to rescue survivors, provide aid to the displaced, and comfort those who lost loved ones. With many affected areas still inaccessible, the international community must continue to work together in the coming days to ensure that assistance reaches remote areas and that Nepalese authorities have the resources they need to respond and begin the process of rebuilding."
