WASHINGTON, DC – Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously to release the Committee Democrats' memo:
“Tonight, the House Intelligence Committee voted unanimously to allow the release of the Democratic-produced memo providing greater clarity into the FBI’s pursuit of a FISA warrant connected with the investigation into Russian efforts to subvert our democracy. Now, it is up to President Trump to decide whether to release the memo. If his release of the Republican-authored memo was, as he claimed, not undertaken for partisan reasons, he should have no problem releasing this memo as well. Doing so would ensure transparency and allow the facts to speak for themselves. Releasing only the Republican-produced memo would lay bare the full hypocrisy and raw partisanship of the President’s shameful efforts to attack the FBI as a means to distract from the Special Counsel’s ongoing investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and the Russian government. I call on the President to release the Democratic memo immediately.”
