Hoyer Statement on House Democrats' Final Report on the Select Panel to Attack Women's Health

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the Democratic Members on the Select Investigative Panel of the Energy and Commerce Committee issued their final report: 

“Today’s report reiterates what has already been clearly demonstrated: Republicans’ Select Investigative Panel to attack women’s health has wasted more than $1.5 million in taxpayer money and countless hours of Congress’s time trying to manufacture a controversy that does not exist.  The Democratic Members on the panel deserve great credit not only for their hard work on this report and on defending women’s access to health care but also for their fortitude in the face of often incredulous claims and having to listen to Republican colleagues defame the important work of American researchers and health care providers who serve communities across our nation.  House Democrats will continue to stand up for the truth and defend every American woman’s right to access the health care she needs.”
