Hoyer Statement on Congressman Weiner’s Resignation

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after Rep. Anthony Weiner announced his resignation from the House of Representatives:

“I have said that Congressman Weiner needed to do what was best for his constituents, and I believe today he did just that. He and his family will be in my thoughts in the days ahead.”
