Hoyer Statement on Bipartisan Letter to President of Palestinian Authority

WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement on a bipartisan letter he signed that was sent today to Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority:

“Today, I joined with Ranking Member Engel, Chairman Royce, and a bipartisan group of House Members urging Palestinian Authority President Abbas to end the incitement that has instigated recent violent attacks against innocent Israelis.  These attacks only weaken Palestinians’ case for the statehood they seek, and statements from Palestinian Authority officials making false claims, vilifying Jews, or justifying harm to civilians must cease immediately.  The United States Congress will continue to stand with our ally Israel as it works to defend itself and protect its people from danger.”
