Hoyer Statement on Attack in Sweden

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today following reports of a terrorist attack in Stockholm, Sweden:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of today’s attack in Stockholm.  No nation should have to endure acts of terror, and the people of the United States stand in solidarity with the people of Sweden in this hour of shock and grief.  Those who perpetrated and instigated this attack must face justice.  The forces of extremism and intolerance will never prevail against the democratic ideals that Sweden, the United States, and other peace-loving nations represent.  My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrific attack, their families, and the people of Sweden.”
