Hoyer Statement on Attack in London

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the apparent terror attack this morning at the London Underground Parsons Green station:

"An act of terror cannot diminish the resolve of the British people, who have withstood every hardship in the fight to defend freedom and democracy. The attack this morning in London reminds us that the enemies of liberty and peace are desperate and will target innocent civilians as they pursue their heinous ideology. But they will not prevail. Those injured in this attack are in my thoughts; I join Americans in standing with the British people as they face another test of our common resolve never, in the words of Sir Winston Churchill, 'to flag or fail' in defending our way of life and the freedoms that make it possible."
