WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) announced the winners of the 2015 Member Online All-Star Competition today. See below for the list of Members, Committees, and Caucuses that have been named 2015 Online All-Stars.

“I’m pleased to announce this year’s Online All-Stars, who led House Democrats in acquiring a record 231,000 new followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube,” stated Whip Hoyer. “Over this three-week competition, House Democrats did an outstanding job connecting with hundreds of thousands of new followers, surpassing last year’s total by 18,000. I congratulate Reps. Katherine Clark and Debbie Dingell on being named MVPs, and I thank all of the Members and their staffs for their hard work and innovative efforts to reach and engage with more Americans through social media.”

The 2015 MVP, Rep. Katherine Clark (MA-05), gained an impressive 15,590 new followers, thanks to her passionate advocacy on child abuse awareness and prevention, women's rights, and animal rights, including gaining an assist from Wally the Bunny, a "viral Internet sensation" in support of Clark's Pet and Women Safety (PAWS) Act.  Freshman MVP Debbie Dingell MI-12) gained 9,681 new followers in part by hosting a Facebook Q&A seniors townhall, successful online outreach for a veterans service fair, a passionate Floor Statement on the crisis in Yemen, hosting a constituent cover photo contest, 'Make It In America' hearing testimony, and a promise from her husband, former Dean of the House John Dingell, to do a Jimmy Kimmel-style "mean Tweets" video

Committee Democrats and Caucuses also participated in the competition. The Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Energy & Commerce Committee Democrats, Oversight & Government Reform Committee Democrats, and Science, Space, & Technology Committee Democrats were named 2015 All-Stars.

Later this week, the subcategory finalists and winners will be announced for Best Video, Best Infographic, and Most Viral Post.

This year’s total of over 231,000 new followers for House Democrats on social networks marks another significant increase over the previous year’s total:
