Hoyer Announces 2015 Member Online All-Star Competition Subcategory Winners and Releases a Contest Highlight Video

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) announced the winners of the 2015 Member Online All-Star Competition subcategories for best video, best infographic, and best constituent services post that were selected by the public by total "Likes” on Whip Hoyer’s Facebook page. He also released a video highlighting creative content from the 2015 Member Online All-Star Competition, including the winning posts announced today.

“I’m pleased to announce this year’s Online All-Stars subcategory winners, who produced both creative and useful content using videos, infographics, and photos,” stated Whip Hoyer. “Over the three-week competition, House Democrats did an impressive job strengthening online communication with our constituents. I congratulate winners Representatives Bera, Pocan, Slaughter, Lewis, and Lujan Grisham – as well as MVP Rep. Katherine Clark and Freshman MVP Rep. Debbie Dingell – on their use of innovative and engaging content that reached Americans across the country. I also join in thanking all of our Members for making this year’s competition a success, collectively reaching over 231,000 new social media followers.”
Best Video: Rep. Mark Pocan used his skills as a former magician to explain the inner workings of lawmaking on Capitol Hill.
Best Infographic Winner:Rep. Ami Bera graphically described the seriousness of California’s drought and what it is going to take to come together to address it.
Top Constituent Services Post: Rep. Louise Slaughter used a clean and attractive infographic to show the hard work she and her staff have put into helping and communicating with her constituents.
Whip Hoyer previously announced that Rep. Katherine Clark earned the 2015 overall MVP award and Rep. Debbie Dingell earned the Freshman MVP award. He also announced that Rep. John Lewis and Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham won awards for most viral content. Rep. Lewis shared a photo marking his arrest anniversary, which reached over 5 million people on Facebook and Twitter. Rep. Lujan Grisham shared a post about her surprise visit to a troubled Albuquerque Social Security office, which was liked by over 9,300 people and shared by over 1,470—reaching over 436,000 people on Facebook alone.
