GOP Quote of the Day
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) calls the #GOPTaxScam as he sees it and is making clear to GOP leaders that he is going to oppose the bill. Take a look at how he eviscerates both the content of the bill and how his party has once again attempted to jam legislation through Congress. From the Wall Street Journal:
“Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) said he opposes the Senate Republican tax package, saying it unfairly benefits corporations more than other types of businesses.”
“‘If they can pass it without me, let them,’ Mr. Johnson said in an interview Wednesday. ‘I’m not going to vote for this tax package.’”
“Other Senate Republicans have expressed concerns. Jeff Flake of Arizona, for example, has worried about deficits and Susan Collins of Maine has worried about Republican plans to repeal the insurance coverage mandate in the Affordable Care Act as part of a tax overhaul.”
“‘I don’t like that process,’ Mr. Johnson said. ‘I find it pretty offensive, personally.’”
“‘I realize what’s about to happen to me, OK?’ Mr. Johnson said. ‘I’m giving them fair warning to do a good tax bill. I’ve been giving them fair warning for months.’”
