FLOOR UPDATE - ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION OF FLOOR DOCUMENTS

FLOOR UPDATE:
April 6, 2020
Members are advised that the following announcement has been made regarding electronic submission of Floor documents.

Beginning Tuesday, April 7, 2020, staff must electronically submit all Floor documents, including bills, resolutions, cosponsors and extensions of remarks, to a dedicated and secure email system, rather than deliver these materials by hand to staff in the Speaker’s Lobby or Cloakrooms.  At this time, Members may still drop off materials in person.

Electronic submissions will be accepted when the House is in pro forma session, as well as 15 minutes immediately before and after those sessions. This upcoming week’s pro forma sessions will be held Tuesday at 11:30 AM E.T. and Friday at 9:00 AM E.T.  Pro forma sessions for the remainder of the month are expected to follow a similar schedule (Tuesdays and Fridays).

Members are further advised that this policy will be effective through April 19, 2020 and may be extended if continued disruption of House operations remains necessary due to the pandemic.

The House will now accept Bills for introduction, Constitutional Authority Statements, and Add a Cosponsor Forms submitted to clerk_hopper@housemail.house.gov.

Additionally, the House will now accept Extensions of Remarks and General Leave Statements submitted to extensions@mail.house.gov.
