FLOOR SCHEDULE UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 16, 2019
FLOOR UPDATE:
"On Tuesday, the House will meet at 12:00 p.m. for Morning Hour debate and 2:00 p.m. for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the House will meet at 10:00 a.m. for Morning Hour debate and 12:00 p.m. for legislative business.
On Friday, the House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business. Last votes of the week are expected no later than 3:00 p.m.
We will consider several bills under Suspension of the Rules. The complete list of suspension bills will be announced by the close of business tomorrow.
The House will also consider a clean continuing resolution to fund the government past September 30th. While the House did its work and sent ten appropriations bills to the Senate before the end of June, for the first time in more than three decades the Senate failed to introduce a single appropriations bill before August. As we wait for the Senate to complete its work so that we can begin conference negotiations, a continuing resolution will be necessary to prevent another government shutdown like the one we experienced earlier this year.
In addition, the House will consider H.R. 1423 – Forced Arbitration Injustice Repeal (FAIR) Act. This legislation would eliminate forced arbitration in employment, consumer, and civil rights cases and would restore access to justice for millions of Americans who are currently locked out of the court system and are forced to settle their disputes against companies in a private system of arbitration."
